The White Poplin Shirt

The first shirt in any wardrobe. A timeless classic. Smart, crisp, stylish. Elegant on its own, yet goes with everything. Almost impossible to mess up (avoid spaghetti and red wine).

Poplin (broadcloth to our American cousins) is a type of weave – a simple criss-cross pattern that produces a light, strong, smooth finish. We use only finest quality Italian cotton. We have tried a number of weights. Too light and though it caresses the skin, it becomes transparent and it may fray after a few washes. Too heavy and it can last forever, but no one wants to wear cardboard.
